How do I find out what BT contract I have left?

I will be moving house soon and have found out that the house im moving to is in a cabled area, so I want to change over to Virgin.
I am currently with BT for phone and broadband and was wondering how I find out what contract I have left with them.
Also what sort of costs will I be looking at to get out of the contract?
Im assuming that if I did take BT with me to the new address I would be likely to be started in another contract anyway.

If you took BT with you then there's no need for a new contract.

I was trying to avoid a phone call tbh, the main problem is, I changed my calling plan a few months back and believe they usually restart your contract when you do this.
I know they shouldn't start a new contract if I move but BT are crafty bar stewards and I know chances are they will.0 -
Hi Wkdwill,
If you drop me a PM I will be able to check out what term is left on your account.
Thanks

Wrong. When you move home your line rental starts a new 12 month contract the call plan just carries on. So if you are on a 12 month rollling contract your call plan will be on a different 12 month contract to your line rental
.
Thanks Mr Tom. I'd been advised differently by someone at BT so thank you for clarifying.0
