I am surprised I am not yet breaking out in cold sweats as my student status runs out this month. I have found places like the English National Opera and the Young Vic have under 26 discounts though so have joined up for their respective schemes :)

Someone please correct me if im wrong but as far as i know the only way to get a valid NUS card is to be in full time higher education, a-levels, a degree, a HND etc so i doubt youll be able to get one.

I suppose you could sign up for higher education then quit but that seems like a load of hassle just to get the odd discount and a free burger every now and then

  • 10% discount in Waterstone's. You have to sign up to the Waterstone's Card (it's NOT a store card, you also get 3 points for every £1 you spend, save them up and redeem at 1 point = 1p). There'll be other offers for students during the year too apparantly.

Also (in Scotland at least) if you spend £40 or more on textbooks (easy for me as one of mine alone was £30 with staff discount!) you get a free 'experience' from www.activateyourself.co.uk - Horseriding here I come!
