Dying huge curtains?

We have a number of very large windows in our house, which require very large curtains! We have, currently, cream coloured jobbies that came with the house in all of the windows. Rather than buying new ones which are extortionate, I wondered if it would be possible to dye them. The fabric is cotton, so this shouldn’t be too much of an issue in theory.
My biggest problem is that one particular pair are HUGE. Each one is approximately 3m by 3m. I seriously doubt that I can get one in the washing machine.
Any ideas of how to dye it? Do you think I could do it in the bath? I had a look at the dylon website which seemed to suggest that you could do small items by hand – I think I might need so many packets of hand dye though it might not be worth it!
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance!

I did my settee covers it was a bit easier
for me as I was able split mine into lots
Cannot remember how many packs I
bought but at the time I remember
making a mental note including the
salt it came to around £49.I think it
was 9 or 10 packets
,but mine is a large three seater
This sounds a lot but the end result was
really good and my settee looked brand new
and itslasted really well as I have washed the
covers umpteen times since. Also at the time
to get just the main cover proffessionaly
done, not including any of the cushions
it was going to be £250 + vat.
Also Dylon have a really good advice service
if you are going to attempt it give them a
ring or email first.I rang and the woman on
the phone was really helpful.:j:j:j0 -
when I did the main cover it filled the machine
and I did wonder how successful it would be
but it turned out just as well as the other loads
if one of your curtains fits in the machine then
it will probably work:j:j:j0
