Totally agree - dont buy a Dyson full stop

Which wont reccomend them at all because of their unreliability, the amount of repairs needed

I too have a Meile and would never go back to Dyson

I just bought a DC08 Animal yesterday. I was stuck deciding between this one and a DC11 All Floors (both cylinder).

The DC11 was £30 cheaper but the DC08 Animal came with all the allergy filters and the mini turbine head which I would find usefull.

If you dont require any fancy tools or filters you will be fine with a basic model.

I am pleased with mine! Cost £224 from Curry's instore and will also get 5% cash back with my egg card :j

    Yep, I'd avoid Dysons too.

There are so many dyson cleaners to chhose from and i am totally baffled!

The price range varies alot as well. Is it worth spending more than the basic one and if so what extra does it do? there must be a limit to how much a hoover can do!

    Any help appreciated.
    Thank you

Basic DC03 nearly 1 yr old works fine £100 plus VAT from Costco saw Asda knocking them out the other day £160. Best vac I've ever had

    DC03

Lightweight, slim, masses of filters which have reduced Penninewoman's sneezing in-house at least.

And it just keeps motoring on - and we have cats which means daily use.

    Magic.

But, got it before he decamped to the Far East. :(
    Where now?

    Absolutely love my DC03,

Had it 8 years now, and it has not lost any suck at all.

I choose the smaller of the uprights, as it weighed less (for carrying upstairs) and goes completely flat to vac under beds etc., but as it is smaller, it means I have to emply it more often, but does not bother me in the slightest.

Which are not very impressed, they admit they like the vacuum cleaner but found many needed repairs, mine hasn't up to now.

I think they are like Marmite, you love them or hate them.

    Good luck in your decision

Which consistantly recommends Meile Vacuum Cleaners, my preference is the Cat and Dog model.

What upright do they recommend. I googled Meile but it seems like they only do cylinder vacs which I dislike:confused: and probably explains why I'm not keen on Henrys.

My DC01 lasted 7 years. It was the DC07 that I replaced it with that I was unhappy with.

I have the old Dyson animal - 2 years old - dog and 2 cats and hubby with sawdust (works with trees!) - does a great job as we are a messy household - no nasty niffs off the filter either and as long as you wash it regularly and empty it its fine - try hoovering the mattress and see what comes off it = you will have a fit!!!!!!!!!!
Saving in my terramundi pot £2, £1 and 50p just for me! :j

I have the DC14 Animal - nothing is safe

This is my second dyson and I've never had a problem. Wouldn't have anything else, especially when you've got dogs :p

We can all slate particular brands, it just comes down to people's experiences.

ETA, no need for filters and the filter only needs to be rinsed every 4-6 months and it's so easy to empty the drum.

my last dyson broke & I found a shop near me that would repair it but when I got there I found that he sells reconditioned dysons for 30 quid with a 3 month warrently.

I left him with mine & took a recon one instead - I still have it now 6 months on & it's working fine - if it breaks I'll just get another one for 30 quid & leave him with mine again to repair.

I assume they are old models as they are 2nd hand & reconditioned but hey they certainly work & for the tougher stuff we have a steam cleaner from Maplins for £117.17inc VAT. Which is surprisingly really good at cleaning & chemical free.

    cheers,
    worto.
