Is there anyway I can hide it? for example in my soon to be 3 year old sons savings account??... failing this I shall put under my mattress!
Any idea's? Thanks in advacne
Isn't redundancy money supposed to be used to pay the bills until you find a new job or until you have no money left and need to claim benefits?
I am sorry to hear that you are being made redundant but I don't see why other people should be working hard and paying for your benefits whilst you have £5k "hidden" to beat the system.0 -
Seems to be more and more posts appearing here asking for tips on how to defraud systems every day!
The redundancy payment is NOT a bonus, it's money to tide you over till you find something else based on your time at your current place of employment. If that means that you can support yourself and your family for a little while - great - and if you don't get a new job right away, or you find yourself getting low on your savings to a point where you qualify for different things - then great, apply! That's what the system is there for - it's for when you are in a time of need. Having your money stashed under your mattress doesn't make you 'in need'........just a criminal committing fraud.
Is a criminal record worth it? Is it really worth the risk of you going to jail and leaving your child with one parent less? I don't think so.
Sorry to hear you have been made redundant, but maybe rather than looking to 'stash the cash' - you should be looking to see how you can use it to get back into another job.0 -

Of course I do - I was referring to the £5,000 redundancy payment that the OP has said that she wants to hide rather than use to supplement her JSA.0 -

And as the redundancy pay will be made through the payroll , impossible to hide . And as other posters have pointed out redundancy pay is in lieu of wages for the x number of weeks your entitlement is , its not a bonus !Vuja De - the feeling you'll be here later0
