Magnetic/blackboard paint..

Hi was wondering if anyone could possibly help with this..
Wanted to paint a square in our kitchen straight onto the wall as a magnetic board so went to Focus who sell the all in one blackboard and magnetic paint for £10..i enquired as to whether it could be painted straight on the wall and they weren't sure..
So has anyone done this? my concern is it may be hard to paint over and although not a prob at the mo in the future i may decide i want rid!..have seen it on many home progs but tends to be the blackboard painted on as opposed to the magnetic bit..
Thanks

im not sure what it would be like to paint over in the future, so i would just get a board and paint that.

Have a look here ...mentions you can paint on plaster/plasterboard. If you've got questions not answered on the website i'd give International a call or use their online contact form.

  • I painted magnetic paint onto my sons wall, tbh it was useless. I couldnt find any info as to wether you had to paint onto wall or a board either (surely painting on a board defeats the object?) but it was sull of these filings and i had to keep scooping them up with the brush to make sure there was an even coating. Even then it didnt work properly (nothing stuck to it), so i used it to decorate a space mural i did on his wall. I got mine from B&Q tho. Hope this info helps!

International paint i linked to is usually available in Homebase/B&Q i think...what with the post these days would be quicker than buying online!
