The ususl suspects are toothpaste or metal polish - from the centre outwards... not round and roundI'm Glad to be here... At my age I'm glad to be anywhere!!

Don't . You could destroy it.
Try this first http://www.oemailrecovery.com/cd_recovery.html it's free and very easy to use
so is this one

If those don't work, which it has only failed on once for me...disc doctor is a rotary polisher with special fluid that is used by DVD rental companies. Some may even do it for you if you ask nicely.

has worked for me before on a very badly damaged disk... what I've also found is different types of optical drive (desktop vs laptop) had different levels of success reading scratched CDs so worth trying others if you have access.
-tho this is more useful for data disks where i was able to copy the entire CDs contents off intact taking different parts that I could read in each drive and putting them together later
Does the DVD play at all? another option would be to capture/record this signal although there would be a reduction in quality taking this route.0 -
hi all
yes the disc play in all mc's
just cant copy it ,,,as it wont read,,,using any copying software
scratches are mostly in a circular pattern
