The neighbours would fall on your neck in gratitude!
I did not mean to suggest the farm, the people, the district were "at fault" - just that her incessant moaning and well publicised financial woes would not put her in a strong position to sell at a good - or even reasonable price.
What's the betting it goes on sale at the worst possible time at the most unrealistic price? Especially if it gets repossessed.
Oh, I know you weren't blaming her neighbours. I just think a lot of people who might offer on it wouldn't either!
I still don't think I'll be able to afford it.who knows though, I can't remember what she paid for it. she will certaily have had more equity than us from her london place (probably double our deposit!). Oh well....I feel very laid back about it all atm..
As regards Liz, I really do this morning, feel very sorry for her, her wildest of dreams could come true, she could meet, for example a fashion designing prince who loves to live with OCD eaters and cat lovers and pay for people to wash horses tails in shampoo made from hold rose hips and the breath of a new born lamb, and she'd find it in herself to be sad because he was blond not dark haired....she'll never be happy and its not to do with circumstances.0 -
She's imploding, the only reason she's not in the nut house, is because she has a job and the trappings of money.
Will there always be someone to pay her, for her mad ramblings? If not, she's on a one way ticket to a section.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -

It was put on the market in 2007 for £1.6 million Lir, according to the source below. Maybe she paid close to that.
The IndependentWhen Upcott Farm, where Jones now lives, was put on the market for £1.6m in 2007, it and the amenities on its doorstep were said to be the perfect buy for urban professionals seeking a new way of life.
I've looked that postcode up, and followed the lane about with streetview (very country lane). A few farms along there, including a massive one. It's difficult to lock down which could be the Liz Jones farm though.
There is an Middle Upcott Farm Bed and Breakfast (website) and corresponding streetview, so Liz Jones place must be around there Lir, if you could see yourself running a farm or similar in that area. Google map satellite overview.0 -

There is a planning decision (PDF) given in favour of a Miss Elizabeth Jones of Upcott Farm in 2008.

When you said she would never be happy, I was racking my brains to remember what her saga reminded me of - then I got it - "The old lady in the vinegar bottle".;)"This site is addictive!"

She is interest only though, isn't she ?
She also paid a small fortune to a company to find it for her. Mind you she got the money back on that as she wrote a couple of articles complaining about them."There's no such thing as Macra. Macra do not exist."
"I could play all day in my Green Cathedral".
"The Centuries that divide me shall be undone."
"A dream? Really, Doctor. You'll be consulting the entrails of a sheep next. "0 -
