Changing the Law regarding a Commital to Prison Order

To request a DNA test is not denying paternity, if the couple were not married and the male's name is not on the BC then a test can be requested, although folk say these things don't matter in reality they do! After all the child is not some dirty little secret

Anyways we are not here to discuss that aspect. You brought it up by highlighting the 'our' not 'my' children.
Good luck with your quest
True. It is not denying paternity, but on the other hand...as had happened with me...denying paternity is a well known delaying tactic. My ex did this to me.
Despite being married at the time of conception, despite his name on the birth certificate.
Oh...and despite me trying to arrange contact he has never been interested, no birthday or Xmas cards. No contact whatsoever.0 -

Some men are known to do it in a bid to delay proceedings ... some on the other hand, like my H had to do it because the Mother didn't know who the father was herself! (I'm not the Mother by the way lol) It's a difficult one for an internet forum. Those men who use it as a delaying process are probably not going to be honest when asking for advice on a forum and will say that it was because they had doubts ... and those women who weren't sure themselves who the father was, are most probably not going to admit to it when looking for advice so may well fib and say the father was being unreasonable.
All we, as readers, can do is take their word for it ... but the general consensus is, if a man has asked for a DNA test they are just trying to delay proceedings even though they know full well they are the father. But that's not always true.
Anyway, it's completely off topic and the thread will probably get locked now anyway

being a dad or father is not status desired by all, (you get similar bullying from JWs assuming everybody wants to live forever  )
absolutely! And that is their right - but if they dont desire the status its their duty of care to ensure they dont put themselves in that position in the first place.
There are two sides to everything I appreciate that and we have an equal number of NRP's and PWC on these boards so I am not about to start a debate on the ethics of either. Everyone has their own tales to tell - you only have to look at some of my threads to see that I have my own.
The original point though that the OP made - steering it back on topic was that the CSA settled on the steps of the court rather than going for a LO in court when they will have to go through the same steps again in a few months.
I wish I had the answer but having gone through compliance several times all I can suggest is complain to your MP and insist that the file is marked so that you make it clear you want a LO gained and enforced next time.Free/impartial debt advice: Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS) | National Debtline | Find your local CAB0 -

I agree (except for the delaying tactics) , it could be said that if someone is avoiding paying then whether it be via the csa, courts and other sanctions then they are not going to pay up so easily under any circumstance and probably when they do pay up it will not be regular and consistent.

One further point here, a friend of mine had to drag the CSA to Court to get the DNA test. The CSA had been hounding him for money for about 5 or 6 years. He got his Order for the test and it was duely carried out. The result is that the CSA had to repay him thousands of pounds as he was not the father. I advised him to go to the Press and ask for compensation from them, he was just so glad that it was over he let it go, so they got away with it again!0
