Collection only but paid by paypal advice please.

As you can guess by the title. I sold something as collection only & advised I would prefer cash on collection. The buyer has just sent a paypal payment.
I have e-mailed back & asked if I refund the payment & pay by cash on collection I would give them a discount.
Its not a high value item, but still around £20 that I cant afford to loose.
I think I know that your going to say theres not alot else I can do, but is there anything else I can do?

just out of interest, why would you prefer cash on collection? i don't understand why it's money that you 'can't afford to lose' as the buyer has actually already paid you?

Probably beacuse they could pick up the item then put in a claim for non reciept and the seller would'nt have a leg to stand on since they can't prove delivery. For a low value item I wouldn't be to worried. Its part of the reason why I never except collection. Hopefully it should go ok0

Yup, thats why I dont want paypal for this one.
Im probably just being paranoid - been reading too much on these boards!
They have got good feedback, but mainly for selling. Then again they probably wouldnt try anything on while using their seller account so I think Ill try not to let my paranoia get the better with this one & just go with it.

I'd ask for a signed receipt from them that they've taken the goods, although I don't know if it'd hold any water with Paypal.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0

Despite the low value, I would say you are about to be scammed. (The purchaser could collect the item then file a dispute with Paypal which you will lose).
I would refund and relist.0 -

The problem is ebay is really not geared up for collection except for motors you have to accept paypal. So if you put something up for collection and they pay via paypal and refuse to pay cash your a bit stuck.0 -
If they're local you could always offer to drop it off - a scammer would probably not want you coming round to their house.0
