Putting a socket on the chimney breast

Hello,

I wonder if anyone can help me. We would like to put a flat screen TV on the chimney breast but we don't want the wires to be hanging down and looking messy.

What's the best way to do this? We thought that perhaps the best thing to do would be to put a electrical socket onto the chimney breast behind the tv.

There is already a dual socket on the side of the chimney breast that could be extended off. Is this is the best thing to do? Does anyone have idea of how much we would pay to have a new electrical socket on the chimney breast?

Many thanks,
Sarah

I pressed the thanks button .... don't know why

Idea of hiding the wires is first class.exposed leads always looks messy.
I take it you don't use the fire ??

Cheap and cheerful, drill hole in chimney at the rear of the tv.
Feed Ariel and mains lead into void.
drill second hole ( close but missing elec outpoint :rotfl:) from side
    wall to void.
Make up a short extension lead. to join holes.:D

Might only cost a couple of pounds.
But if you have an open fire ...... not a grate idea!
