Leeeggstone. I had a similar problem to you and found that I had the old type of consumer unit.
I had the unit replaced with a modern one - it had to be done at some time and now was as good a time as any.
I had new wiring installed, directly from the Consumer Unit.
I then had the cold water feed from the loft. (Incidentally the plumber was able to drop it through the cavity so there is no ugly piping coming to the shower)
My shower is a Gainsborough SV700.
Got the whole lot done for £400 and feel a lot happier about my electrical safery!!I'm Glad to be here... At my age I'm glad to be anywhere!!
I'm not losing my hair... I'm getting more head!!0 -
Just had a look on my Electric Box - found this info
RCD Wylex
30mA Trip
240v 50H
So i could be best off, buying a Mira Shower, then have some people around to do showers & they could do the plumming & electrics (is it common for same person to do both?)0 -
