Changing oven bulb

Hi all,
We've got a Hoover under-counter single fan oven. We're in a rented flat and the LL we're renting from bought the flat with all the appliances from the previous owners. We have a manual but it gives no indication of the model number, it says that the model number and serial number should be on a plate on the oven door but I can't find it anywhere!
I've tried to change the bulb but I can't get the clear cap off to get to the bulb, it won't unscrew, just moves from side to side a little.
Has anyone got any hints or tips to get the cap off?
Thanks!
Caroline

Having changed many oven bulbs (as an electrician) I think you will find there is good chance the cover just pulls off, it's held by a couple of spring clips, look for a formed slot at one end to carefully lever up using a screwdriver. Most of the square/rectangular bulb covers do, the circular ones may screw off - turn it anti-clockwise if that is the case - but they often get gunged up. Anything more sophisticated tends to degrade with constant heating/cooling, I've never found any with screws (as the heads would perish and the threads almost weld themselves together).0

Sorry, I should have been more specific, it's a round, glass cover, there are no clips and it won't pull off. I think it's totally gunged up so I was wondering if anyone had any tips to ungunge it. I was considering using WD40 but not sure whether this would damage the oven or taint the food for future use.
