Looks a good price for a new lappy. Checked on quidco but not partnered. Not sure if they are elsewhere or if someone has a code.

I'd be a bit careful of that memory upgrade. £34.99 should buy you an additional 512Mb (e.g. from Crucial), not an upgrade to 512Mb.
Acers are pretty decent laptops (IME) so this might well be a good deal.
P.
EDIT: I checked Misco's website and the upgrade is an additional 512Mb so it's not a bad deal.0 -
How does it compare with the Inspiron 1300 deals?0

Fairly well. The spec is almost identical to the 1300 that I bought three months ago except that the latter had a widescreen monitor. The 15.4" widescreen cost £340 then. I understand that subequent Dell deals on the 1300 omitted the wireless card so in terms of the current Dell Inspiron 1300 this compares well.
The only other caveat I have is that it is not clear whether the DVD/CD-RW drive actually writes DVDs (the 1300 does) - I suspect that it only writes CDs.
I have used several Acers in the past and found them to be robust, if not possessing lightning performance.

dont forget this laptop also includes intergrated wireless, aounds like a good deal to me. And the memory upgrade is also worthwhile!0

I got the 1300 with the screen and battery upgrade for £336. We may need a second machine though...0

There is also this one available

Recondidtioned, but very good spec
Pros
Seems to have a better processor, and better graphics available.
Cons
No operating system included, not intergated wireless
Make your own conclusions, but like for like, the acer seems better for the light general user, the digimate seems better for someone who wants slightly better performance and is willing to sacrifice the intergrated wireless
Just my 2 pence worth!0 -
This is a reasonable deal.
If you're looking for a laptop with a DVD RW, Comet are doing the Acer ACER TM 2423WXMI for £379.99 inc delivery. It comes with a 14.1" widescreen but otherwise pretty much similar spec to this one.

In my opinion, the Dells have far superior build quality to these flimsy cheap Acers.0

Acers looke better though
!!
They also do not outsource the manufacture of their computers to third parties.
I think Dell and Twinhead are the only other manufacters that do the same!!0 -
