Home cinema problems

I have a Pioneer xv-dv222 home cinema system, a while ago I borrowed a "ripped" dvd from a friend and now I can't play anything but brand new DVD's. It appears as if the code of my player has been re-written, this means that my dvd library is now obselete!!
I have tried cleaning the lens and leaving the system unplugged for two hours, all with no success.
I would try the to reset it back to the factory settings but I don't know how.
Any help would be greatly accepted,
Many thanks

Surely it will play all dvds from region 2 and region free?:idea:0 -
Nope, doesn't play anything I previously had, it will only play brand new, straight from the packet dvd's. I also am confused!!0

I'm not sure what the difference between the OP's library and brand new, out of the packet DVDs is? I wonder if the 'library' is non R2 stuff and the Pioneer has somehow 'lost' a region-free fix? There's love in this world for everyone. Every rascal and son of a gun.
It's for the many and not the few. Be sure it's out there looking for you.

I have a feeling its region locked somehow but im absolutely confused as to how 'brand new' ones work then dont!
OP ~ if you can find a region hack then it might work?:idea:0 -
Not sure if this info helps, the system was chipped by the supplier so it can run both region 1 & 2 dvd's. I have had no problems with it for years until i borrowed this "ripped" dvd.
I think they used DVD decrypter to copy their own copy, now none of the dvd's I watched on my system prior to this one work!
It is getting really annoying how I can't watch anything.
Any ideas greatly accepted0 -
It makes no sense at all to me. Decrytor removes copy protection anyways so it 'should' have been region free when you loaded it into your system:idea:0
