Gas & Electricity payments
Hi
Not sure where I should post this thread, hopw this is the right place. I am with Npower and received my bill for gas and electricity last saturday. I was paying £100 direct debit every month and was a small amount in arears. The bill last week confirmed all this and told me my direct debit would increase to £211 per month!!!!
I phoned them last Monday lunchtime and told the man I spoke to that I wasn't going to pay that amount. He said ok we'll lower the amount to £118 just like that. I then said I was willing to pay £150 a month and he said how about £135, I said no £150 and he said ok then. Thanks for calling bye!!!
I would urge anyone who this happens to to phone the company and see what happens.

So he offered £118 and you insisted on paying £135? I don't get it.No free lunch, and no free laptop0

The amount settled on depends on just how 'small' the arrears are.
The repayments need to be enough to get the OP through the winter months, when we use more, and repay the arrears.0 -

dear noofywoo, Welcome to Npower rip off, It does not matter which tariff you have - when comes to customers Npower do not want to play by the rules- Well they done the same to me, Npower requested £177 and took it out of my account. That is a whopping £2124 for the year - this is taking the bread out your mouth - as I am retired . Well I took action to move and save , THIS I HOPE WILL MAKE A PROJECTED £1409 !!!!!!!!!!! in coming year. On a dual fuel deal - YOU ARE THE CUSTOMER MAKE IT WORK FOR YOU - THEY ARE NOT THE ONE AND ONLY FIRM AROUND.0

Rather depends on the arrears (which he said were small). £118 represents an 18% increase, 50% represents a 50% increase, which would possibly leave him with substantial credit. Why lend NPower free money? No free lunch, and no free laptop0
