Dimmer switches

What's the difference between one way and two way dimmer switches? I've got a white one I'd like to replace with a brass one and didn't realise there were options, thought a dimmer switch was a dimmer switch. Am I being dim, is it something really obvious?

Simply, a one way is for just a single light operated by a single switch.
a two way is for when there are two switches to operate one light, like top and bottom of a staircase.0 -

Thanks for enlightening me!
Also while I'm asking stupid questions,
TV socket Single
TV socket Isolated Single
What's the difference? What's it isolated from?0 -
Isolated ones are required for a shared aerial, prevent your TV interfering with (or passing an electric fault back) to others on the same system.
Not really needed in a home, but not a bad thing. Only downside is they cost more and you lose a bit of the signal strength.
If other TV's in the house are running off the same aerial then a good idea.0
