Thats what I thought  Although I think Id prefer bubs here early than a permanent plaster reminder of how huge I am :o I asked what he plans to do with it once its made, apparently he's putting a sheepskin blanket in and letting belly monkey curl up in it while she's still small.

EA you can buy the rolls of plaster bandage off ebay or if you have a craft shop near you. Thats all thats in the kits along with vaseline and gloves and much more MSE :D He's definately painting it but not sure what design? Possibly some sort of monkey (or the Dr Seuss Baboonas!) seems as we've always called her the belly monkey.

Is it really dark near anyone else and you need all the lighting on? Ive just realised Im sat here in pitch black!

Ah that's got to be the cutest thing i have heard in ages! Bless him!

I wan't one done too - OH doesn't as he said it'll be wierd to have that hanging up anywhere. I think it'll be nice. That website i put on about a week ago of the lady in Camden does some really nice decorations on them...i like the one in bronze, with arm over boobs and a hand on tum - very nice!

MGEB I loved the one on that site that had monkeys all over! Can you tell me and OH are a bit monkey obsessed?! We've even bought baby a monkey outfit from mothercare, if I let him he'd bring her home from hospital in it! We both love fancy dress though so can see why he thinks it'd be ok.

I see one on my virgin catch up, about a guy who does baby's feet and hands in casts.

Website is called magic custard, or something similar.

I might look into it as we want to do it, i can do one a month to see how i change. Then sell them to an art gallery, and become a world famous artist *dreams away*:D:rotfl:

We're doing the babies hands and feet casts in a box frame with a piccie of her in a tutu for my parents christmas pressie :D Just need to buy the alginate (I think thats what its called ) so we can do them in plenty of time incase it doesnt work!

We got our friends a set for their little girls christening last weekend and they thought it was a great idea, said it was far better than the multiple money boxes and photo frames they got.

So far belly monkeys got a monkey outfit, a tutu (I make them if anyone wants a really easy tute on how to do them) a cow snowsuit and a bear :D

  • Oh wow - i like those ideas, well if they don't come home in them you'll both have to upload some pics of them in them at some point!!! I would love to see them!

I used to (in fact still do) call DD monkey. She was actually ''ElizaLegs'' before she came out coz she was really powerful and brutal with her kicks...used to wind me really bad sometimes! And now monkey is one of her many many nicknames, lol! Along with monster, preeny(god knows where that came from), princess pea, sweetpee, and prob some more hat just roll of the tongue. I rarely call her Eliza, unless she is due a telling off, lol! :D OH used to call me monkey, we'd get some funny looks for that though - he thought it was endearing, lol! I don't get called anything nice like that anymore though :( the most i get called is Babe :(

I love the superhero ideas - might have to get busy on the sewing machine, i'd love to have a girl and make her a wonderwoman outfit, hehe!

We got a little keepsake wooden box from 'Magic Custard' company - it has DD's tiny footprints printed on the cermaic tile with a message i wrote for Daddy. It has her first little leather shoes, all scan pics, her 1st birthday badge, her hospital bands that were on her tiny feet and a few other bits. We'll add to it over the years too. She loves looking in there though! Cost a whopping £50 at the time (at the baby show) but now i am glad i paid out for it ;)

We never did any of the casts though - def will this time around!!!

  • Oh i can't find the box...looks like they don't do them anymore :( I am sure it was them as they kept sending me 10% and 15% of vouchers to get me to buy more stuff.
