  • :hello:Hi all. Brrrr, it is cold and wet here. I think I might ask DH to make the log fire up this evening.
Well last night (aka first night on my own with Henry while OH work nights) was hideous. Henry wouldn't go to sleep at all- we started bedtime routine at 10pm and he finally went to sleep at 2am. No idea why, any thoughts or help very much appreciated.

I'm glad you said that GISI as David was exactly the same last night. He would not go to sleep - he just wanted to sit up and look around - totally unacceptable behaviour in my eyes when it is 2 o'clock in the morning! :rotfl:

Talking about music, I think my first gig was Michael jackson in Cardiff although I have seen many bands including Status Quo and Lindisfarne . I thought Bon Jovi were excellent though Weezl

Oh GISI he is still so, so young and new to the world, although it is nice and good practice(imo) to try and use a 'routine' I really wouldn't worry too much if he decides not to follow every night...in fact sometimes it is good to just take a step back and see how he plays things out and do 50/50 with your routine/bedtime and his own routine/bedtime, I know it is hard having little sleep but it won't be forever. I think babies sometimes sense a tense mummy and it makes them less settled iykwim. I probably haven't helped at all but hang in there it gets easier:D:D

Becles - Glad you had a nice night out:)

Fajitas were fab as always and the kids love em too, although tonight they said they were a bit too spicy. DH had the last of the Ben and Jerry's ice-cream, he sat sharing it with Kai, it was so funny and when he said last bit now and didn't offer Kai anymore he was climbing up his legs trying to grab the pot:rotfl::rotfl:

p.s. I love Bon Jovi, always have done and he is sooo hot now....

I agree Mel, routines come later, and they tend to stick when you just fall into them. Maddy has always woken at 6am ish and now its 7.30am. She did it, not me, and even this morning with no school she was awake dot on! As for evenings, well she goes down about 10ish but that's not rigid. A nice relaxed Mummy is much more important. If she doesn't settle quickly she comes to bed with me so I don't loose sleep although that's getting rare now. X
Too many children, too little time!!!

Kai always woke at 6am too, started waking at 7am all of a sudden at about 5/6mths and bed time has always been about 7pm because that is when he is tired although lately that has been getting later more like 8pm...although he has been having his afternoon nap late. It is no big deal though if it starts to get too late then I will try and get him to not sleep after 4pm but tbh I am so much more relaxed abouth everything this time round. I was with ds1 but with ds2 I didn't cope very well, although I realise now I am pretty certain I had pnd for about 5yrs!!!!!

Harley, Em and me thought we could do a meet down this way. Do you know anyone from the preggers thread near?

    I'm back briefly.

KamperKat is from South Petherton I think, but didn't see her for a while before I migrated over here. Hope things went well for her, though can't remember exactly when bubs was due.

Don't know of anyone else but def worth popping over there to ask.

I was planning on letting you know when Kezia and I make it down there. Just found out that when I go back to work I will be working with your town crier. Lovely chap.

I just figured for now that as OH comes home at 6pm, then dinner, then Bens bedtime and Erin. If Maddy was awake until at least 9pm while she's so little he would get some time with her. Although she usually ends up asleep in his arms by 8.30pm. But not to bothered either way. I only decided on trying her in her cot this week and she fitted in well with what I wanted, probably as she knew I wasn't bothered either way!

  • Thanks for the advice ladies. I know he is still teeny and we are definitely still following his lead. Funnily enough I don't feel sleep deprived as he sleeps really well once he goes off- last night he did 5 hours, then another three after a quick feed. I'm just not a late night person at all so I find it really hard to stay awake until 2am!

I drive, by the way, so am happy to meet wherever suits others.
