I would highly recommend Diskeeper. been using it for a while now and cant fault it..

    its currently at version 10..

it also has a scheduling feature and smart defrag tool, so that when ya drive gets to a certain point of fragmentation it kicks in and defrags for you..

Unless your disk is getting full on a regular basis, and you are continually deleting stuff, then defragging makes very little difference on a modern drive, certainly not enough to warrant paying for software. The one built into XP is diskeeper, albeit a cut down version.
Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time?

I use Ashampoo Magical defrag... It continually defrags whe you are not using your PC and then switches off when you do. Good if you are downloading large files it will defrag while you are waiting.

Xp tool can take absolute ages and will only do a half decent job

It doesn't defrag the Master File Table (MFT) if you use NTFS as your file system. Plus, yes it takes ages.

Only if the drive is FAT32 not NTFS I use the inbuilt tool and it zips along mind you it also depends on how full a drive is.
