Cheaper train tickets.
New in, or is it that I've only just noticed - quidco, or better still topcashback (who add extra 1% 'til Christmas) are giving £4 back per Virgin train ticket bought - good deal specially if your trip is low cost in the first place! May be possible to book in separate transactions & get £4 each time?
Not sure how long this'll last...

when i booked train tickets for my holiday in october this year virgin trains quoted me £10 more than east midlands trains for two adults and a child with a family railcard. so i wuld be wary of this offer and still shop around for fares.Wins: 2008: £606.10 2009: £806.24 2010: £713.47 2011: 328.320

has anyone booked train tickets and got the cashback? I travel to coventry 3 times a week and this could save me £12 a week! Is there a minimum spend? my train ticket normally costs £12 return. Booked my ticket for tommorow so ill keep you posted if it tracks.0

I always check times & fares via: http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/ before I book anyway, to make sure I'm getting the best deal. Noticed, however, that Virgin trains have a Best Fare Finder: http://www.farefinder.virgintrains.co.uk/ which is quite useful.0

It won't last long at all if everyone starts abusing it the way you suggest. :mad:0 -
I never knew about this so thanks for the heads up!! I only go down London a few times a year so may be worth getting £4 cashback per single ticket as it is cheaper to travel this way0

"Please read the following before proceeding:
The £4 cashback offer is calculated per basket. To get cashback on multiple bookings you will need to book and pay for them separately."
It's often cheaper to book single tickets anyway so where's the abuse?

Exactly. Came across this offer on another forum, and finally booked my Xmas trains last night. Booked two singles (London to Wolverhampton and back) for £7.00 each way. Quidco has tracked £4.00 on both journeys.
You'd have to be pretty daft not to purchase singles as separate transactions - especially when the Quidco site informs you to.
About time I had a bargain on Virgin trains. Even though I've got a Virgin Money card, you're not able to get the 10% discount on the cheaper advance fares.

Thanks SirHugo & daska for agreeing that my suggestion was not 'abuse', as accused by sandybrag. After all, it's in line with Martin's article on how to get best price tickets!
Kirko - any update on your cashback tracking?0 -
