I'm speaking about this:
http://www.express.co.uk/posts/view/137380/EU-to-ban-all-shop-refunds
Is it truthful? I would like to trace its source, if any.
I have not found any other reference in other European newspapers I read (online). Besides, some competent commenter's take the distance from the article...
In other words, what's going on here?
Thanks
Steve

at least its the complete opposite of the dreaded secret 2 year eu law that the government hides from us!
lol but yeh id take this with more than a pinch of salt
or disregard it completely
i doubt the eu would enforce that 2 year garuntee directive and then turn around and ban rights to refunds all together.
my guess is a couple of old men at the back of the eu decided to draw attention with a ludacris idea....Back by no demand whatsoever.0 -
I think the Express could be exagerrating or latching onto one PROPOSAL of many.
The basic ideas of the Consumer Rights Directive seem to be that the various EU states each have different consumer rights on money back. This can be confusing for customers when travelling and is also difficult for businesses that trade in different EU states.
The documents I have just skim read gives a few proposals eg keep status quo, invest in advertising to raise awareness for travellers or various proposals for harmonization of consumer laws. I did not notice a clause suggesting that if they did bring in laws it would stop indivudual businesses offering levels of protection that are over and above any EU proposals.
It could be a good idea if implemented correctly.

To use the words "truth" and "Daily/Sunday Express" in the same sentence is treading on dodgy ground. In the last year those two papers have paid out over a million pounds in libel settlements. To see how these tabloid newspapers operate I would suggest this site:- Tabloid WatchWhat part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

It's the express, it's boll....um, testicles?Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.
Now 20% cooler0
