Poster tubes? Cheapest or better still free ones?

I'm busy listing some posters and was wondering if anyone knows the best way to get poster tubes, the Post Office ones are rediculously expensive.

If you have any sturdy card about you can make your own - only do a toblerone type shape, rather than a cylinder - the posters still stay uncreased if you pop an elastic band round them, and it's far easier to make a toblerone shape, which can have cardboard ends, rather than a cylinder - when i went to the van gogh museum in amsterdam they packed my prints ina toblerone shaped box and they travelled brilliantly - hope that makes sense and saves you a pound or two.

ask at a high street store, sometimes couriers use them to post their display graphics etc, some stores do send them back to be recycled, while others just bin them, cant do any harm in asking

You could also use the inside tube from wrapping paper to make a postal tube
