Hi blinko,
You should get more help with this on the Techie board, so I'll move your thread over there.

You need to have a streaming webserver to be able to do it "properly" otherwise people will just be playing them as they download.
There is no way of stopping someone from stealing them if they want to as ultimately they have to be put on the PC to play but by using a proper streaming webserver will make it significantly more difficult. All posts made are simply my own opinions and are neither professional advice nor the opinions of my employers

thanks yeah i have heard about the streaming sever and i will have to look into that its definately a good idea.
what about encoding stuff eg i have my camcorder and it records it as a huge MPG file do you know anything about converting the stuff into normal wmv's etc that are kinda small so one can fit them on the website

I guess you have a chicken and the egg issue... do you decide which file type you use and then find a streaming server that supports it or do you find your server first and then convert your files to a supported format.
The likes of Real provide the software to convert files into the relevant versions for use in conjunction with their streaming software/ servers. All posts made are simply my own opinions and are neither professional advice nor the opinions of my employers

In the United Kingdom 200,000 people are bitten by dogs every year and some people will die as a result. Of those bitten, 70% are children... So the question has to be asked....... Has the time come to ban children?0
