Halloween party

Hi All
Ok, I bought a ticket for a halloween party at Monkey Bizness. I have a few issues with the event, the main being that it was far too overcrowded. Aisles were blocked because there wasn't enough seating, and when I was talking to the person behind me in the queue for a drink I was told that he'd turned up, got told all tickets had been sold, but on complaining had been allowed in anyway. I waited half an hour in the queue for a drink, with a toddler crying because he wanted to be playing on the structure.
There were various events going on but because of the overcrowding you couldn't get to them. There wasn't anywhere even to place my pram it was so full! The heat was unbearable. Babies were being stripped to their vests because it was so hot.
I'm sure the maximum occupancy was exceeded. Is there any way I can find out what this is, and ask for it to be checked? Money should never overcome safety, which is what I think happened this evening.

There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.

I did leave earlier then I intended to.
If you want the ins and out of it. I got there, it was pretty full, at 5.30. Waited half hour to be served for a drink and his lunch bag. At 6pm the structure got closed for a pantomine which couldn't be viewed as it was so full. That finished at 6.30. I spent half hour with my son drinking a drink and him having his sandwich and snacks, then let him play in the small toddler area. With a shed load of older children messing about in that area too. By that time I got pe'd off that I couldn't really go anywhere else in the place so phoned my father for a lift home. So spent half the time I could have, there. Most of the time, waiting in the sodding queue for a diet pepsi! There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. Obviously not.
OP you yourself state:-
"Money should never overcome safety, which is what I think happened this evening".
Did you complain at the time?
Just sounds like an horrific event. You might have a case but nothing you can do except inform council but all they will do is possibly random checks in the future.
Next year do the easiest thing and keep your money in your pocket.0 -
I fired off an email last night and have already had a reply. I'm happy with the response I got. They realise things didn't go to plan (adult to child ratio was too high for one thing). The reply took all my concerns seriously and answered everything I put to them. It was their first major event and they have learnt from this and will be making changes to any future events such as this party. There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. That is great when company's do that and put their hands up. You do wonder at these sort of things if you are being unreasonable.
Well done OP.0
