Right,

Im looking at a car on ebay and the seller has this below. Now my question is if I buy this car will this be my car and can I get a log book. Do you think there will be any problems if buying this car?
This car is being sold on behalf of a local authority for unpaid parking fines.Permission for the sale of this vehicle has been granted by the local authority.
there is no buy it now price!................
car has to run its course on ebay!...........
cars sold as seen!!!.............
messers need not apply..............
serious bidders only...........
any winning bidder that does not pick the car up will be left bad feed back and will be given an unpaid item strike........
if you do not want this car please do not bid........
court warrants can be shown when car is sold……..
THIS VEHICLE WILL SHOW AS ON FINANCE WITH HPI BUT WILL BE SOLD WITH LETTER FROM FINANCE COMPANY SHOWING CLEAR OF FINANCE !!!!!
no log book
Mot unknown
no tax
Kind Regards
Bill

  • The car will have been removed from the debtors address by court appointed bailiffs, On behalf of the Local Authority. It will be sold to recoup the debt of the owner.

To get the new logbook you would simply apply for it from the DVLA, And If I remember correctly there is a cost of £25 to do this.
War does not decide who is right, It decides who is left.
  • You will be able to get a log book and you will be the legal owner of the vehicle.

However, it is being sold for unpaid debts, so how do you think it will have been driven and maintained?

This has to be seriously cheap to be worth considering.

You won't get the log book, for 6 weeks, so you will be unable to tax/drive it for that period.
