Dentures on the NHS? Anyone know anything

My 21 yer old daughter is in hospital at the moment. She went to the GP on Tuesday as the right hand side of her face was very swollen and her eye was closing.
She was given two different types of antibiotics, but by Thursday night, the swelling was increasing.
I took her to A&E very early Friday morning, and she was admitted as they thought she should have IV antibiotics (A&E doctor worried that the infection was sitting very close to the sinuses and he was worried that the infection could carry up into her brain - I think that's what he said, anyway!)
Anyhooo - she was on the ward by 8am. The IV antibiotics weren't started until 8pm. Apparently the ward didn't have any "in stock" and had to order them. No clue where they were ordered from that they took 12 hours to turn up.
Anyway, they doctor saw her again this afternoon, and has decided that the problem is "broken roots" in her mouth (I wasn't there at the time - this information came from her boyfriend) and that she would have to have two teeth removed and the fluid drained. This would be done either this evening or tomorrow morning.
We went for evening visiting and in the short time she was awake (she has slept soooo much - I've spent about 12 hours sitting watching her sleep during visiting hours) she said that she actually has to have 4 teeth out and this will be done tomorrow morning.
These are four back teeth, so not going to affect her smile, as such. But I can't imagine how she'll cope with half her back teeth missing. How will she be able to eat? Will she be able to have some kind of denture on the NHS. She is only paid NMW and is hourly paid rather than salaried. This is quite a new job and unfortunately although she was led to believe it was full time, it has turned out to be far less than full time. Which means that she can't afford to pay for anything, and unfortunately we're not in a position to help her financially.
This is what she should claim, as it's help for those on low incomes:

She'll need to check with her dentist though about how it applies to dentures - much of what was covered in the past is now classed as 'cosmetic' and not covered now.
And, no, you don't ever stop worrying about/helping kids - last week I had to bail my 33 year old son out in America/Canada, as he accidentally booked the wrong flights and then had problems with his cards..............

You can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset.

A word of warning though, if she has to pay out the money first before her claim goes through, to get a special form filled in - can`t remember what its called - but if she does`nt have it, she`ll not get ger money back.
Hope that makes sense, only we were caught out with that once !0 -
I have had two back teeth removed on either side and can eat fine, so it's highly possible she won't need any dentures.
And yes, being a parent is a lifetime job. I can remember my mum when she was in her 90s, worrying about my elder sister who was in her seventies.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0 -
Some celebriities deliberately have back teeth pulled out to accentuate
their cheekbones:eek:make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
hope she is ok, the most she will have to pay is £198 bit hopefully she will get some help to pay x0

I don't think the back teeth are classed as neccessary for denture on the NHS...I would have a look on the NHS website to find out
