Generally, I find that if a place accepts normal visa, they accept electron
I haven't looked on their sites because they're very expensive. The ones I have used e.g. simply3g or e2save, I've noticed don't accept electron. I guess there's not the problem there used to be with actually being able to use it as a debit card!:j0 -
i see it as if the shop shows that they accept cards with the visa logo on the they will accpet the visa electron cardNo Links in Signature by site rules - MSE Forum Team 20

My first bank account was with HSBC when I was 16 and I only got a Solo debit card at that time. When I reached 18 it was upgraded to a Switch/Maestro debit card.
The other bank that I use is Natwest. I have a Step Account which includes a Solo debit card. I've never had a problem with ordering online with Solo. I've found that both Solo and Visa Electron are much more widely accepted online and in high street shops than they used to be.-->♥<-- Sugar Coated Owl -->♥<--

They won't accept it because they need it for ID purposes to open a contract. As Electron and Solo holders are normally under 18, they're not allowed to have a contract.
Both Abbey and Alliance & Leicester gave me Electron cards. Most smaller retailers didn't accept it, however most high street stores did. The only store that didn't accept it was Debenhams. This may have changed now, I don't know.
I remember Debenhams because it was the store the furthest away from the cashpoint, and I always forgot they didn't take Electron, so I always had to leave my stuff at the till whilst I traipsed the whole way down to the opposite end of the shopping centre to lift cash!0 -
But you can top up your phone at a NatWest cashpoint! Or in Boots and get the Boots points ...xhaling wrote:Most mobile phone stores don't accept either Solo or Electron
