Shower fitting is this a good price?

Options
We are buying a new build home off plan and have asked the company building the house for a price for having a shower fitted over the bath.

They have quoted us £650 this includes all plumbing and electric works for the shower, the actual shower & glass shower screen plus tiling on two walls to ceiling level.

Is this a good price? or would we be better waiting and getting someone else in to do the work once the house is built?

Sounds good to me,would probably cost more at a later date. It's easier to do while they are there and the house is clear.
  • I have a friend that was quoted a similar price. It is a fair price to be honest esecially with partp etc.

Make sure the shower is high enough in wattage, try and get a 10kw, ask them what thickness of wire they are using. Ideally you need 10mm, just incase you wish to change the shower to a larger one in the future and ask them if it is to be wired into a RCD ( this is advisory, but not compulsary according to the IEE)

Fitting a shower once you have moved in can be a real pain in the butt!

It sounds cheap if everything is included in the price, a quality (but not silly upmarket) shower bath and screen can easily come in at £800.

    Thanks for the welcome!

I am new as a member but have been watching the forums for a while.

I think we are going to let the house builder put the shower in for us but I'm going to ask them which shower we will be getting.
