How Long Before I Get my V5C?

I bought a used vehicle on 17 Oct. I still don't have my new V5. How long does it date for the DVLA to issue me with a new one after my purchase? I bought from a dealer and I have my section 10.

So you have your Section 10 of the V5C.

Then turn it over and read...

If the registration certificate is not received after 6 weeks, please contact DVLA on 0870 240 0010.

I recently bought and sold on separate occasions and both the V5 and the selling owner notification letters took about 3 weeks to arrive. However, that was before the postal strikes ..... :rolleyes:

longest ive had to wait has been around 3 weeks but with postal strikes could be a little longer

i waited over 8 weeks before the post strikes started.

Applied for another at 6 weeks then the 2 arrived together a week later.
I guess they were busy.
