Laminate Flooring

Options
Been looking at a house that has been refurbished. Unfortunately the lounge and dining room has laminate wheres I prefer carpet.

Can carpet be laid over the laminate or would it have to be ripped up?

many thanks

I suppose it could be laid over the top, but really it it's no more than a mornings work to remove the laminate anyway, it's not as if it's tiles which are cemented in place.

Thanks Alan, the laminate is putting me off the house but if it easy (and expensive!) to rectify that certainly helps.

Your carpeting contractor will probaly remove it for you for an extra cost but it shouldn't be difficult to remove yourself.
