When's a good time of day to phone MBNA?

I've cleared my balance and want to cancel my MBNA card. Well, actually, I don't want to. I want them to think I want to, so they'll give me a 0% offer just to stay.
What is a good time of day to do this? In the middle of the night, or in the middle of the day when there's a manager around to approve a special deal?

Well, that went well:-
MBNA: Hello Mr. Promise, how can we help you today?
WP: I'd like to close my account, please.
MBNA: OK...any particular reason?
WP: It's uncompetitive these days compared to my other cards.
MBNA: How about if we slipped you fifteen grand for 6 months, interest free?
WP: That'll do nicely.

Mr Smartsaver did the same and the best they would offer was 1.9% for 9 months. He's applied for a virgin card now and can hopefully transfer over the limit. Would be a shame to cancel a limit of £18.300.00 8) but can't really leave it there doing nothing and taking up credit space0

Are people managing to get the 2% balance transfer fee waived as well ?
Thanks

Forgot to say, I have the AOL card, and my introductory period has just run out.
