Employers attitudes towards older staff 60+

I am just over 60 and was self employed for many years but now sold my small business. But I still need to work to keep my sanity but wondered if it was worth applying for jobs. I know B&Q and some others have a record for employing over 60's but I couldn't do the type of manual work expected as I have never done this as I have done PC and admin stuff.

You probably aren't past your best, you know. If you feel you can manage financially and are therefore not needing the cash, why don't you think of doing some kind of voluntary work? Aged 62, I started volunteering as an adviser for Citizens' Advice and I can truthfully say it's been fantastic. It's kept my mind active, I feel useful and I've made new friends. Best thing I ever did.0

There are many opportunities for PC literate admin staff and some employers prefer mature people. You might want to try the NHS? They employ part time admin staff, which may be of interest to you?"A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi
