I would go for a OneForAll remote with "learning" mode, this means it can learn the remote codes from the orginal remote if you still have it, but the one for all range is great, you can up date most of them from there website so they allways worth with the latests tv ect

    Thanks Tom :-)
  • I would recommend one of these and plus they have £10 off at the moment

    £40 for a remote when a TV/DVD combo is like £60?

Sell the TV remote-less and buy another.

I got one of the (Tevion) once sold by ALDI from ebay for £5. Fantastic value for an 8 in 1 with learning and macro functions.
Do I want it? ......Do I need it? ......What would happen if I don't buy it??????

I have a Tatung TV and I need a new remote. Will the remotes sold by the likes of ASDA work with this?

    Thanks

i bought one of the Kameleon 6 in ones and it did my head in after a week. More hassle than they're worth when using with Sky as some of the buttons are shared and refused to switch without a load of fannying about.

Several weeks ago I bought a Universal 8 in 1 remote control from Superdrug which cost me less than a fiver. It was a bit fiddly to set up (had to us the manual search rather than inputting the code) for my Beko kitchen television, but once it had found the code it works well. I doubt it would operate sky, but it had 8 individual buttons to set up for TV's Videos, DVD, CD etc.
As it was so cheap it is worth buying just to try

    Regards

I got one of those cheapo ones from the poundshops(can't remember which one) and am using it to control my tv. I don't need to use it for anything else(well apart from activating my remote controlled dimmer switch :) ) so I don't know for certain if it definitely controls anything else but it claims that it could operate loads of things(there is a little booklet full of coeds for all types of models and makes) such as satellites, dvd players, vcrs etc and I have no doubts that it could. The only problem it has is that once every 3 or 4 months it has a funny turn where it stops working completely but this is easily fixed by taking out the batteries for an hour and all is right again. For a quid you can't go wrong!
