Passport Renewal Question

I have got to have my passport renewed shortly

In the renewal form there is a section which have got to be completed by somebody confirming your ID such as a doctor , policeman , bank offical etc

I have been told that your local postman or somebody in your local post office can do it true or false

The list of who can sign is below. I doubt a post office official includes a postie. However, if it's just a standard renewal you do not need anyone to countersign. Countersigning is only necessary if it's a lost passport, your first adult passport or your appearance has changed significantly.

Your countersignatory should be a professional person or a person of good standing in the community. The list that follows gives examples of the type of person that would be suitable. If you are not sure who to ask you can call the IPS Passport Adviceline on 0300 222 0000.

If its a renewal you dont need to get them authenticated as long as you are still recognisable from the old photo's.

I used the online renewal thing where they send you the forms already completed and all you do is basically sign them and attach your new photos. Was dead simple to do.
