help with ceramic bathroom sink taps

can anyone give me some advice, in respect of my bathroom ceramic 1/4 turn sink taps, i have a dripping tap, it is not the first time, i have enquired about ''new ceramic '' cartridges but alas i cannot aquire any, does anyone hav any suggestions on how to clean these ceramic cartridges or what is the best method, i have taken them apart before and it stopped for awhile, i wish i had remained with the old faithfull rubber washer bulk standard tap, at least they are functional, thanks

hi!

you should find that ideal standard tap inserts fit most taps on the market, unless the sort you have are speacials, which if this is the case, you should be to return tho the place you brought them from and obtain the spares you require.

you could always take one the inserts out and take it along to your local plumbing merchants and see if they can help you out?

or post the make of your tap on here and see if anybody knows where to get the spares from??

I have never tried this myself but a friend of mine was told to clean the ceramic discs with lemon juice. Apparently the acid cleans them without harming the ceramic, He said it worked but I am not sure how long it worked for!

They have new 1/4 turn ceramanic disc inserts in stock at most Plumb Centers, they are a none maintance product/item.
You only need to get a minute amount of grit coming through the water to scratch the surface of the discs.
