Sorry to hear this has happened - check in with your dog warden daily and feel free to upload a pic of the dog here.

Coming up to this time of year alot of people are buying dogs especially like Pom's and you never know, someone might come across it

Great advice already offered but wanted to send some support

Aww wee doggy, I hope he finds his way home asap.

It might be useful for you to ask the local children to keep an eye out for your dog - mention a reward and you'll get their full attention. Kids know and see much more than a lot of adults do so they could well be a valuable aid to you.

Maybe your dogs didn't bark because it was someone known to you them who visited your back yard? Just a thought...
  • Sorry for not replying, but thank you all so much for your concern.

I have a poster made up, will print it tomorrow in work and get it around the place.

I also posted a message on my local Freecycle group.

On a good note we think the other dog is pregnant so we will soon have lots of little Pom cross pups....Can't wait..
    ;)I HAVE NOTHING TO SAY;)
  • Snowy Owl.....My dogs barked at everyone, even if they knew them. The warden said that whoever stole him could have threw a piece of meat over the fence with a bit of a sleeping drug in it, let both dogs eat it and then returned in about 15 minutes when they were knocked out and stole Rocky then.

I just hope that whoever has him is treating him well and looking after him as well as we did, although my partner still thinks that whoever took him are barstewards..

Your husband is right, they are.

Try the local paper, they love an animal story as everyone is interested, and someone must have seen your dog and may get in touch. Add a reward and you could get some druggie scumbag shopping his mates, it's not like they have any honour is it?

Someone's been watching you and your dogs to do this. No CCTV round your way, maybe pick up a car or something useful that way?

    Hope you get him back.

Hi Caroline just wanted to send a hug and say dont give up. This happened to me some weeks ago and I was devastated never thought I would see my dog again but I got him back after nearly a month.

I put him on the National Pet Register and put posters everywhere. My local
school told all the kids at Assembly. He was on the Radio twice. Notified all the
local kennels and the dog warden. After a couple of weeks hearing nothing I
printed off hundreds of leaflets and handed them out at the local market, and
    carboots.

A local Christian centre has a small community cafe and they put the details
out on the tables and that paid off I had a call from someone who
claimed he had bought my dog and wanted a £100 for him. I agreed but he
wanted me to meet him on my own at a really dodgy area so I refused, he
then said he would bring the dog to me but didnt turn up. He phoned again to
give me an address so I sent the police but he did not live there. The following
day he phoned again to ask me to meet him at a local stores Carpark I agreed
but arranged for the police to be there. He turned up but with three very dodgy
looking lads. I told him I would not pay the £100 but would give him the reward
offered, fifty pounds. When he realised the police were there he agreed and
    I got my dog back.

I think its important to keep trying, posters get ripped down, put more up let
everyone know that you are looking for your dog. I do hope you get him back.
    Good luck, Meg
