Double Refund at Waitrose

Bought some fresh cod today £5.70, and when checking for bones my wife found a live worm in it.
I took it back and was given a double refund of £11.40.
I thought that was pretty good.

A live worm in a pack of fish I would have expecgted more than a refund even double. I am not greedy but that is gross, it's like finding a worm in a can of coke yuck!0

a live worm...was it a maggot? seriously, this should be reported rather than get refunded...everytime I buy seafood or fish from a supermarket it is off..0

I can't remember where I heard it but I think that worms in cod is a fairly normal occurence. With fresh fish you would notice - I don't want to put people off their breakfast but if you bought cod and chips from the chippy, you wouldn't notice as it would be cooked! Not good for veggies - and a pretty disgusting thought anyway!ELITE 5:2

It is worth reporting it to your local Environmental Health too - although they can't do anything about it now, as you have taken the fish back to Waitrose - they can still record it, in case it becomes a common occurrence. Why does nobody say Thank You anymore??:mad:Debt Free as of September 2011 :jSealed Pot 2009 number 334 - £100 Saved! yey!!Sealed Pot 2010 number 334 - £116.51 Saved!
