Car insurance bands

I'm sure the answer's here on the site, but I can't spot it, so....
My daughter is looking to buy her first car and we're looking for a site that says what car goes into what insurance band? Could anyone help, please?

search on google for ABI (association of british insurers) im sure they have a group thing somewhere on the site

or parkers.co.uk if you know a specific car you want to look at

The thatcham link appears to need a log in/registration.

This page from PARKERS allows you to view each group or search by make/model.

You only need to long in to download things like the 'code 44' files which contain all the data (used by insurers to load the details onto their systems). Anyone can use the search facility on the right-hand side of the page.

Bear in mind the groups are not set in stone, different Insurers might rate a vehicle in a higher or lower group depending on their own experience / view of a car.

They are however a good guide to find a low group car, as always get a quote before you buy the car
