WPA Adapter Needed

Options
I have a Linksys WAG54GS Wireless Gateway, which will support WPA encryption. However, the matching WUSB54GS Adapter only supports WEP. Can anyone recommend another adapter that I can use so as to get WPA/WPA2 encryption please? What about the speedbooster function - if the replacement adapter doesn't support this will I notice the difference? Thanks.

Polybear.

    Is the WUSB54GS a version 1 or a version 2 ?

The V2 has a WPA driver available to download from Linksys' web site.

    Thanks

Thanks for the reply - I have a v2 and probably the v2 Drivers as well; I went into (I think) the drivers setup and found an option for WPA security. I selected this and also the WPA option for the Gateway as well, but couldn't get it to work. So I phoned Linksys tech support, who told me that the WUSB54GS only works with WEP. Unless someone out there knows different.........

I don't believe that you need to get a new adaptor because the WUSB54GS user guide states that WPA can be used and you say that you have found an option for WPA security.

Try to set up your WPA-PSK security again by entering a long random 64 char hex string from here into your router.

Then try to establish a connection on the computer using the adaptor by clicking on the wireless icon in the system tray. Select your network and click on Connect. Cut and paste the same hex string that you entered into your router into the Network Key and then again to confirm it and click connect.
