This is Lakelands recipe from the toffee apple kit
1lb caster sugar
150ml/5floz water
2 teaspoons vinegar
4oz/115g butter
8 med size apples
Place all ingredients in large saucepan and melt over low heat, until the sugar dissolves. Increase the heat and boil for 5-6 mins. toffee should be a dark golden colour.Test toffee by dropping a bit into cold water, if it forms a hard ball it is ready.Leave toffee to thicken for 5 mins and then dip in apples.
I've made this and thought it was great. My tip ....make sure your apples are not the waxed type. The 1st few i tried the toffee would not stick.
Hope this is of help.0
