Surveyor lack of respect for my home

I had my survey yesterday, and the surveyor caused some damage to my property, and really had no respect for my house. My house is done up, and you can see we look after our home, but how he treated my home was very surprising. I haven't had my results back from survey yet, but the thing he has damaged will need to fixed. The other things my husband can sand and paint. Ive never come across a man like this, and he did look quite scruffy, and maybe this is reflecting him being careless?. My son got upset as he used one of his toys to rest his tea on, may sound silly, but to my son it was a big deal. My buyer is a cash buyer and this is not a mortgage survey, but not sure what kind she choose. Is this normal for surveyors? As Ive only ever had mortgage surveyors do surveys on my house. Is this because he is being so thorough, and ruining fixtures to look for problems?

I was trying to avoid to say the damage at the moment, as don't know who may be reading, as this website is very popular. I will say it was from checking my electrics.0

Was he even a proper surveyor???? I get the feeling this might have been a 'builder friend'.
I suggest that you speak to your agent and find out who he is, you get the agent to avise the buyers that there will be a bill. Then get the damage repaired and send the bill to your buyers.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Just to be clear - this is a survey that the person who is buying your house has comissioned for your house ? If so, why are you expecting to get the results ?0 -

Damage can go from pinprick marks on the wall where he tested for damp to ripping a socket off and leaving a gaping hole.
Why does the damage need to be fixed? In a few weeks it won't be your home any more, the damage will be the buyers problem. Is it dangerous in it's current state? If so get your solicitor to write to the other side. Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -

Spit it out.
What damage has been done?
You should ask the EA for details of the surveyor and his qualifications.0 -
Until we know what the damage was there is not much help or advice can be given.
Scruffiness is not a bar to being a surveyor.Been away for a while.0 -
was the sale arranged via an estate agent or direct with the buyer?"enough is a feast"...old Buddist proverb0

I do know how you feel. I had a agent round to value a flat i was selling, walked in with filthy shoes over a cream carpet then throw his briefcase on the worktop knocking the kettle flying. Told him to leave there and then.0
