Titan Loft ladder lifetime guarantee

Have had a couple of these and in time the metal struts and spring assemblies holding it together have buckled and snapped. The first time this happened I was told by Titan that there were no spare parts and no guarantee, so I bought a whole new loft ladder.
Now that the same thing has happened again I have finally got it out of them that yes there is a guarantee and yes there are spare parts. However, thay say that the guarantee does not cover the spare parts - is that possible?

Anyone know what I can do if the manufacturer/retailer are refusing to honour a guarantee or supply spare parts?0
