Recommendation for Boots Kitchen Appliances and Appliances Online

I thought I would mention the excellent and speedy service I've received from Boots Kitchen Appliances and Appliances Online today, for those of you who are currently sorting out your kitchens.

They rang me within 20 minutes of ordering online (!) to confirm the order, and delivery was available very quickly. Having shopped around, I got the cheapest prices for my appliances, plus Advantage Card points, and Amex and TopCashBack cashback.

It turns out that both use the same delivery company and seem to be linked in some way, so my 2 orders arrived together - useful to know.

I should mention I have no connection whatsoever with these companies.

Happy shopping!

I had a very different expereince - my cooker hood from boots arrived dented and they tried to refuse to send a new one as it had been signed for! They then left the dented one uncollected for weeks which was a complete pain!

Good prices though and great to get advantage cards points I agree

I uses Appliances online for several items a few months ago and thought they were really outstanding. I had some complications with the order but was able to speak to someone who understood the issues and made sure they were sorted out to my complete satisfaction.
I have just ordered a new f/f from Boots...due tomorrow so I can't really comment just yet. Price was good, Boots card points and also cash back through Quidco. Annoyingly though they have already called me TWICE to try and sell me an extended warranty. GRRR
  • I have ordered 3 appliances on different occasions from appliances online and found their service to be top notch, friendly delivery drivers also!

    Hi

I am sure that these companies are fine if you just want a cheap product, but I think it is well worth while to get in touch with your local independent kitchen or appliance specialist if you want a better quality brand like Neff, Siemens and especially Miele as you will generally find more knowledgable staff and an installation service if required. These quality brands generally offer better support to the local indepents than the 'online' retailers because of the better service thay can provide to the end user.

    Good luck.

I bought Bosch appliances for my kitchen....and did lots of research including visiting a couple of local independant retailers. Their prices were very high and apart from thumbing through the Bosch brochure they offered very little help or information. Appliances Online gave me a much better price, fast delivery, and knowledgeable answers to my questions. Simples

try john lewis. much better warranty than most.
first class customer service and they will price match.
    Get some gorm.
  • I brought a freezer from Boots Kitchen Appliances at the end of December quick delivery on the date they stated. My only comment was regarding the delivery men a bit slap dash and they unpacked my appliance outside. Would like to see a more professional service.

Ah yes - independents, everyone is different! (some might say that is just another reason to buy from them) To be honest Bosch do tend to be everywhere so therefore this does tend to drive the price down and also the service. It is worth giving your local independent a call though and be honest with them about prices else where, internet or otherwise. For example, as an independent Kitchen and appliance specialist we sell more Miele built in appliances than any other independent in Hertfordshire. I will always upon request visit the customer's home prior to purchase to make sure the appliance will fit and be suitable, deliver the appliance myself and arrange fitting if required. We will generally do all this for less than internet companies can sell Miele for. This is because we do this for local customers and have become recognised for our knowledge on service.

Good customer service was most definitely NOT what I have experienced this week from John Lewis.com . I can honestly say I have never never never experienced such diabolical service . They made an initial mistake in attempting to deliver to the wrong address. It took me an hour literally on the phone to the call centre trying to correct it . I was put on hold at least six times for 5 mins at a time while the agent 'checked up' on things - and when after 45 mins I asked to finally speak to a supervisor, he wouldnt allow it. When I insisted he put me on hold for five more mins and came back as if someone else and only admitted he was the same person when I asked him straight if he was.
Scared I would be cut off and have to start again , I saw it through with him cancelling the old order, re- ordering all over again with another hit on the credit card (when theyd already hit it once)-, to ensure the right address. He wanted to charge me express delivery again , till I protested it was hardly express, waiting a total of 4 days through THEIR fault. We got to the end and he finally announced that oh no, there was no express delivery available on altered orders , so it would be 5-7 days! Furious , I insisted on being given a phone number for John Lewis customer assistance desk .
Chap on there said he was a supervisor and appeared to sort it all out and said yes , we could have 'express delivery' (now 4 days from original order date) after all, and hed waive the charge to show good will ! Flipping heck, thats rich , thanks for nothing!
OK, next morning another phone call . We cant deliver again because of the weather -- and guess where they were going to have delivered it? Yep, the wrong address again!

To update. The machine arrived finally at the right address. Checked credit card and they have charged for express delivery after saying they wouldnt , and NOT given me the extended warranty I asked to have as per the original order. Wonderful
