Hi
I have a dish on the side of my house that was used to deliver realtime stockmarket data, though it won't be used for that purpose again.
My question is does it have other uses (eg TV reception) that would be easy to setup?
It points at EUTELSAT hotbird 6.
Many thanks

take a look here http://www.eutelsat.org/satellites/13ehb6.html
this SAT also delivers digital television and radio channels to satellite and cable homes in Europe, North Africa and large parts of the Middle East, reinforcing one of the largest broadcasting systems in Europe

hi
thanks LEE634 had a look at the site suggested.
However i probably did not explain myself properly.
In a nutshell i would like to be able to receive sat tv but from someone who will not charge the earth, suchas bskyb.
Surely their must be foreign companies who provide a much cheaper service than british co's.
thanks again for any info0 -
Unfortunatley I doubt if this is possible if you look at the Hotbird 6 line up nearly all of the programmes are foreign , there are a few obscure english channels, also your dish and LNB are more than likely analouge and not the digital type, this would also mean buying an analouge box if you haven't already got one,
sky have sat tv in the bag and no one in the UK would ever compete on that scale0 -
thanks for the info lee634 much appreciated.0
