This has been really useful to me - found out that my car supposidly sold with 'a bald tyre' as the only advisory, in fact had pages of them0

Yeah you also need to enter the document reference number from your V5 or the number on the MOT certificate0 -
Great idea but is there a way to take it one step further, i.e. if looking at a car on ebay, and checking the history before bidding? So would have the reg no but no certificate number.0

You can always request document number from current owner of the car.Happiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.0

Nice find, thanks. Checked my 2001 car and the earliest MOT record is 2006. I take it that's when they brought in the new MOT's with computerised records?0

Excellent find OP !
Never knew you could do this, so really useful. A bit scary that you can see the full history of failure, mileage etc - makes for good info when buying a car, so you don't get spun a line on it's history.0
