Free Full MOT History of Your Car

Most people may know this but I also know quite a few that don't
This is a really useful if you purchase a second hand car at any time with an MOT (Or check the MOT History of your car back to its first MOT) (Subject to it being a Computerised Entry MOT)
Not only does it show the Date of Each MOT and the Mileage of the car (Useful for checking clocking).
But it also shows the full history of each MOT, including any reasons for a failure and advisories given.
As some times you buy a car with a pass certificate but it could have had hidden problems marked as advisory that will come back to bite you in the future.
You Need
1: Registration Number of your car
2: Serial Number from Last MOT Certificate or Serical Number from V5 Doc
http://www.motinfo.gov.uk/internet/jsp/ECHID-Internet-History-Request.jsp
And off you go.
Well worth a check to see if there are any things you may need to keep an eye on in the future.

Thanks for posting, i did already know about this and used it only last night to check on a car i've just bought (v.cheap!).
Not sure if this would be considered as hijacking the thread but what do u think of these from last year? (Obv has passed since then so must have been fixed!) I know it's recently had a full new exhaust system.
Reason(s) for refusal to issue Certificate
Offside Stop lamp not working (1.3.2a)
Offside Front Direction indicators incorrect colour (1.5.A1d)
Rear Exhaust has a mounting that it does not fully support the exhaust system (7.1.1b)
Offside Front Tyre tread depth below requirements of 1.6mm (4.1.D.1)
Offside Front Front wheel bearing feels rough when rotated (2.5.A.2)
Advisory Notice issued
Nearside Front Brake disc(s) slightly pitted (3.5.1h)
Offside Front Brake disc(s) slightly pitted (3.5.1h)
Nearside Front Tyre worn close to the legal limit (4.1.D.1)0 -

My last car was in a much worse state: rear axle about ready to snap in half, petrol tank leaking from a hole in the side, various other things that needed urgent fixes for reasons of safety. Brilliant, never knew you could get that!-Our P reg Escort seemingly was tested at a Ford dealer in 2007 and failed for "[FONT=Arial,Helvetica,Geneva,Sans-serif,sans-serif][SIZE=-1]Both front Windscreen wiper does not clear the windscreen effectively (8.2.2)"-Wonder how much they charged them for those!Wondered why we have Ford wipers with a tiny sticker on-well they still dont clear the windscreen effectively-must get some new ones from Poundland before February!:rotfl:

Thinking about it,I wonder if whoever bought our old car will see that it failed in 2004 due to having an Exeter Speedway sunstrip!!!!-Examiner that day was well picky-Took it off and it passed!:T0

There's nothing in that list of particular note; some of the lights didn't work or had the wrong colour caps, the tyres were low on tread, the brakes have been on the car for a while. Might be worth changing the brakes next summer sometime, but apart from that there's nothing to see there.

:T Thank you, it all might aswell be German to meTook a risk with this car, it's 1996 and i've paid £250 on the basis that it needs an MOT next month, so if i get it through for £150 inc test fee, then £400 isn't too bad a deal really (i'll wait til next MOT before i relax though:rolleyes::D)
