I still can't work out how the estate agent can open an account in your name too?

An energy supplier can take details of the owner / landord / tenant for a property from owner / landlord / tenant / letting agent / estate agent / solicitor / friend / relative. Steps are then taken to establish if it is correct (For instance the company i work for always send a "new occupier" postcard when setting up an account requesting the new occupier contact us to confirm details).

As for the original post send a copy of your tenancy agreement to EDF showing when you took responsibility, they CANNOT charge you for anything used before that date.
  • So after almost 2 months....

Im no longer getting letters demanding payment for £110 .

    However 'The Occupier' Is....

    And they keep coming... *sigh*.

    WHY CANT THEY UNDERSTAND!
