    Apologies if you think I'm whining. All of the points above come relate to two major issues;
    1. It is not in the contract, so don't know whether it can be charged or not. It is is nothing I have agreed orally or in writing.
    2. They seem to operate this policy when it suits them. Security are doing this for free, as they feel it is also unfair.

All I want to know is whether it is fair or not. I don't believe I have moved the goalposts, I have just explained what has happened. If no-one knows then I will just have to try and find out by other means.

Does it say in your contract that they will come and let you in if you lock yourself out?

An additional page, such as a handbook, addendum or otherwise cannot be seen as part of the contract unless this was added for you to sign at the time you signed your tenancy ( or license)
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

I assume you are not female with a great rack, so you got charged: later in life you will probably get promoted over the bimbo. ;)

LOL! You have to laugh, exhale and relax after that OP.

Stick this one in your 'plop happens' book and write it off. Certainly you haven't been treated kindly but If Unite were seeking to be kind they'd be known as Oxfam.

If some get away with no fee/slack staff that's a bonus for them not a defecit for you.

Be grateful you're not my dad's tenant... I frequently-ish lose/forget keys so he brings me the key to his workshop in the back garden if I lock myself out and won't come back and let me in till the next day! A beeze block and tarp bed is surprisingly comfy after several glugs of pinot...
Opinion, advice and information are different things. Don't be surprised if you receive all 3 in response. :D

as the OP has run away (a very mature response ), I won't bother responding to his, now deleted, request that he would like to hear my response

I remember spending hours letting people in, and if it is a genuine one off mistake then I would have no issue.

My point is that some people are being charges, some aren't and when I ask for clarification on the matter they admit they let some in for free but that shouldn't apparently happen?! If they were charging everyone fairly and separately then fair enough.

As for teaching people a lesson do you feel the same is about bank charges then? Do banks do it to teach you a lesson...has that stopped people from complaining?

I asked them to look at my situation compassionately, and I have asked that they clarify this to all of the residents, so 00ec25 I'd love to hear your response.
