My daughter moving in to flat tomorrow and appeas the leccy is acard operated system, howdoes this work what will she need to do tomorrow, how can she revert back to a tariff scheme.

    She needs to contact the supplier. They will inform her about how to get a card and how to buy credit.

    They will also advise, if asked, if they will allow her a credit meter and under what terms. Even if they do, it'll probably take 2-3 weeks to arrange a new meter.

    If its a rented flat, she should make sure the LL is happy with any plans to change the meter.
